2023-07-10ACPICA: Add AML_NO_OPERAND_RESOLVE flag to TimerAbhishek Mainkar1-1/+1
ACPICA commit 90310989a0790032f5a0140741ff09b545af4bc5 According to the ACPI specification 19.6.134, no argument is required to be passed for ASL Timer instruction. For taking care of no argument, AML_NO_OPERAND_RESOLVE flag is added to ASL Timer instruction opcode. When ASL timer instruction interpreted by ACPI interpreter, getting error. The Interrupt command simulates an interrupt with a int_ID (GSIV) equal to the first argument of the call. The acpiexec code simulates the behaviour by OSPM: execute the _EVT method of the GED device associated with that int_ID. For each GED device in the namespace we record 1) the Interrupt objects and the _EVT method. This information is used when an interrupt is simulate. 2023-07-10ACPICA: Fix GCC 12 dangling-pointer warningPhilip Prindeville1-0/+5
ACPICA commit aea0a5cfce262ce2ab16fd96d87c12cf5e756380 We're storing a persistent pointer to an ephemeral local variable which technically is a dangling pointer and the compiler is correct. However, since we never indirect the pointer, this is a safe operation and we can suppress the warning. Also, some C run-times (like MUSL) aren't including <stdint.h> indirectly so we must include it explicitly or we won't have the type definition for uintptr_t. Fixes issue #867. 2023-06-15ACPI: sleep: Avoid breaking S3 wakeup due to might_sleep()Rafael J. Wysocki1-2/+0
The addition of might_sleep() to down_timeout() caused the latter to enable interrupts unconditionally in some cases, which in turn broke the ACPI S3 wakeup path in acpi_suspend_enter(), where down_timeout() is called by acpi_disable_all_gpes() via acpi_ut_acquire_mutex(). Namely, if CONFIG_DEBUG_ATOMIC_SLEEP is set, might_sleep() causes might_resched() to be used and if CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY is set, this triggers __cond_resched() which may call preempt_schedule_common(), so __schedule() gets invoked and it ends up with enabled interrupts (in the prev == next case). Now, enabling interrupts early in the S3 wakeup path causes the kernel to crash. Address this by modifying acpi_suspend_enter() to disable GPEs without attempting to acquire the sleeping lock which is not needed in that code path anyway. 2023-04-06ACPICA: acpi_resource_irq: Replace 1-element arrays with flexible arrayKees Cook1-1/+4
ACPICA commit bfdd3446e7caf795c85c70326c137023942972c5 Similar to "Replace one-element array with flexible-array", replace the 1-element array with a proper flexible array member as defined by C99. This allows the code to operate without tripping compile-time and run- time bounds checkers (e.g. via __builtin_object_size(), -fsanitize=bounds, and/or -fstrict-flex-arrays=3). Note that the spec requires there be at least one interrupt, so use a union to keep space allocated for this. The only binary change in .text and .data sections is some rearrangement by the compiler of acpi_dm_address_common(), but appears to be harmless.
