2024-07-28minmax: don't use max() in situations that want a C constant expressionLinus Torvalds1-1/+1
We only had a couple of array[] declarations, and changing them to just use 'MAX()' instead of 'max()' fixes the issue. This will allow us to simplify our min/max macros enormously, since they can now unconditionally use temporary variables to avoid using the argument values multiple times. 2023-05-01Input: cyttsp4_core - change del_timer_sync() to timer_shutdown_sync()Duoming Zhou1-2/+1
The watchdog_timer can schedule tx_timeout_task and watchdog_work can also arm watchdog_timer. The process is shown below: ----------- timer schedules work ------------ cyttsp4_watchdog_timer() //timer handler schedule_work(&cd->watchdog_work) ----------- work arms timer ------------ cyttsp4_watchdog_work() //workqueue callback function cyttsp4_start_wd_timer() mod_timer(&cd->watchdog_timer, ...) Although del_timer_sync() and cancel_work_sync() are called in cyttsp4_remove(), the timer and workqueue could still be rearmed. As a result, the possible use after free bugs could happen. The process is shown below: (cleanup routine) | (timer and workqueue routine) cyttsp4_remove() | cyttsp4_watchdog_timer() //timer cyttsp4_stop_wd_timer() | schedule_work() del_timer_sync() | | cyttsp4_watchdog_work() //worker | cyttsp4_start_wd_timer() | mod_timer() cancel_work_sync() | | cyttsp4_watchdog_timer() //timer | schedule_work() del_timer_sync() | kfree(cd) //FREE | | cyttsp4_watchdog_work() // reschedule! | cd-> //USE This patch changes del_timer_sync() to timer_shutdown_sync(), which could prevent rearming of the timer from the workqueue. 2023-01-27Input: cyttsp4 - use EXPORT_GPL_RUNTIME_DEV_PM_OPS()Jonathan Cameron1-7/+2
SET_SYSTEM_SLEEP_PM_OPS() and RUNTIME_PM_OPS() are deprecated as they requires explicit protection against unused function warnings. The new combination of pm_ptr() EXPORT_GPL_RUNTIME_DEV_PM_OPS() allows the compiler to see the functions, thus suppressing the warning, but still allowing the unused code to be removed. Thus also drop the #ifdef guards. Note that we are replacing an unconditional call to the suspend and resume functions for sleep use cases with one via pm_runtime_force_suspend() / pm_runtime_force_resume() that only do anything to the device if we are not already in the appropriate runtime suspended state. Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com> -- I 'think' this should be fine in that it can only reduce the number of unnecessary suspends. If anyone can test that would be great. 2019-11-12Input: cyttsp4_core - fix use after free bugPan Bian1-7/+0
The device md->input is used after it is released. Setting the device data to NULL is unnecessary as the device is never used again. Instead, md->input should be assigned NULL to avoid accessing the freed memory accidently. Besides, checking md->si against NULL is superfluous as it points to a variable address, which cannot be NULL. 2017-11-03Input: cyttsp4 - avoid overflows when calculating memory sizesVince Kim1-12/+40
There are several places to perform subtraction to calculate buffer size such as: si->si_ofs.cydata_size = si->si_ofs.test_ofs - si->si_ofs.cydata_ofs; ... p = krealloc(si->si_ptrs.cydata, si->si_ofs.cydata_size, GFP_KERNEL); Actually, data types of above variables during subtraction are size_t, so it is unsigned. That means if second operand(si->si_ofs.cydata_ofs) is greater than the first operand(si->si_ofs.test_ofs), then resulting si->si_ofs.cydata_size could result in an unsigned integer wrap which is not desirable. The proper way to correct this problem is to perform a test of both operands to avoid having unsigned wrap. 2017-02-27lib/vsprintf.c: remove %Z supportAlexey Dobriyan1-31/+31
Now that %z is standartised in C99 there is no reason to support %Z. Unlike %L it doesn't even make format strings smaller. Use BUILD_BUG_ON in a couple ATM drivers. In case anyone didn't notice lib/vsprintf.o is about half of SLUB which is in my opinion is quite an achievement. Hopefully this patch inspires someone else to trim vsprintf.c more.
