2024-12-17mfd: Add support for AAEON UP board FPGAThomas Richard3-0/+339
The UP boards implement some features (pin controller, LEDs) through an on-board FPGA. This MFD driver implements the line protocol to communicate with the FPGA through regmap, and registers pin controller and led cells. This commit adds support for UP and UP Squared boards. The max_register = 128 setting in the regmap config is not valid. The Intel Dollar Cove TI PMIC has an eeprom unlock register at address 0x88 and a number of EEPROM registers at 0xF?. 2024-12-17mfd: cs42l43: Use devres for remove as wellCharles Keepax4-27/+13
Currently the device is powered down in the remove callback, however all other clean up is done through devres. The problem here is the MFD children are cleaned up through devres. As this happens after the remove callback has run, this leads to the incorrect ordering where the child remove functions run after the device has been powered down. Put the power down into devres as well such that everything runs in the expected order. 2024-12-17mfd: cs42l43: Use gpiod_set_raw for GPIO operationsCharles Keepax1-4/+6
The GPIO framework supports specifying if a GPIO is active low or high and will invert accordingly. Whilst specifying this is part of the normal GPIO definition flow on device tree systems, it is a DSD extension under ACPI, that Windows doesn't really use. This means most ACPI systems do not set the polarity of the pin. The current cs42l43 driver assumes it is setting the level of the line directly, which is actually the case on all current systems and likely most future ones. However if the part was used in a device tree system or an ACPI system that actually used the DSD extensions this would get inverted, causing the driver to fail probe. As the driver always knows the polarity of its own reset line, use the raw set API making the intention to set the level directly clear and to avoid any such future issues. 2024-12-17mfd: Add base driver for qnap-mcu devicesHeiko Stuebner3-0/+353
These microcontroller units are used in network-attached-storage devices made by QNAP and provide additional functionality to the system. This adds the base driver that implements the serial protocol via serdev and additionally hooks into the poweroff handlers to turn off the parts of the system not supplied by the general PMIC. Turning off (at least the TSx33 devices using Rockchip SoCs) consists of two separate actions. Turning off the MCU alone does not turn off the main SoC and turning off only the SoC/PMIC does not turn off the hard-drives. Also if the MCU is not turned off, the system also won't start again until it is unplugged from power. So on shutdown the MCU needs to be turned off separately before the main PMIC. The protocol spoken by the MCU is sadly not documented, but was obtained by listening to the chatter on the serial port, as thankfully the "hal_app" program from QNAPs firmware allows triggering all/most MCU actions from the command line. The implementation of how to talk to the serial device got some inspiration from the rave-sp servdev driver. 2024-11-12mfd: tqmx86: Add I2C IRQ supportGregor Herburger1-2/+21
The i2c-ocores controller can run in interrupt mode on tqmx86 modules. Add a module parameter to allow configuring the IRQ number, similar to the handling of the GPIO IRQ. The new code and module parameter refer to the I2C controller as "I2C1", as the TQMx86 PLD actually contains a second I2C controller, for which driver support will be added in the future. 2024-11-12mfd: tqmx86: Make IRQ setup errors non-fatalMatthias Schiffer1-13/+10
GPIO IRQ setup can fail either because an invalid IRQ was passed as a parameter, or because the GPIO controller does not support interrupts. Neither is severe enough to stop the whole probe; simply disable IRQ support in the GPIO resource when setup fails. The code is made a bit more robust by introduing an enum for the resource list indices instead of assuming that the IRQ is at index 0. 2024-11-12mfd: intel_soc_pmic_crc: Add support for non ACPI instantiated i2c_clientHans de Goede1-0/+7
On some x86 Bay Trail tablets which shipped with Android as factory OS, the DSDT is so broken that the PMIC needs to be manually instantiated by the special x86-android-tablets.ko "fixup" driver for cases like this. Add an i2c_device_id table so that the driver can match on manually instantiated i2c_client-s (which lack an ACPI fwnode to match on). Currently the intel_soc_pmic_bxtwc, intel_soc_pmic_chtwc and intel_soc_pmic_crc PMIC drivers use more or less free form strings for their driver name. Where as intel_soc_pmic_chtdc_ti and intel_soc_pmic_mrfld use the driver's filename as driver name. Update the 3 others to also use the driver's filename to make the naming consistent. After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove() return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for platform drivers. Convert all platform drivers below drivers/mfd to use .remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. On the way do a few whitespace changes to make indention consistent. 2024-11-01mfd: rtc: bd7xxxx Drop IC name from IRQMatti Vaittinen1-6/+6
A few ROHM PMICs have an RTC block which can be controlled by the rtc-bd70528 driver. The RTC driver needs the alarm interrupt information from the parent MFD driver. The MFD driver provides the interrupt information as a set of named interrupts, where the name is of form: <PMIC model>-rtc-alm-<x>, where x is an alarm block number. >From the RTC driver point of view it is irrelevant what the PMIC name is. It is sufficient to know this is alarm interrupt for a block X. The PMIC model information is carried to RTC via the platform device ID. Hence, having the PMIC model in the interrupt name is only making things more complex because the RTC driver needs to request differently named interrupts on different PMICs, making code unnecessary complicated. Simplify this slightly by always using the RTC driver name 'bd70528' as the prefix for alarm interrupts, no matter what the exact PMIC model is, and always request the alarm interrupts of same name no matter what the PMIC model is. 2024-10-31mfd: cs42l43: Disable IRQs during suspendCharles Keepax1-8/+54
The ASoC CODEC driver masks the IRQs whilst entering and exiting system suspend to avoid issues where the IRQ handler can run but PM runtime is disabled. However, as the IRQs could also be used from other parts of the driver, it would be better to move this handling to the MFD level. Remove the handling from the ASoC driver and move it to the MFD driver. Whilst moving also ensure the IRQs are all masked at the device level before powering down the device, as per hardware recommendations. 2024-10-31mfd: axp20x: Add support for AXP323Andre Przywara2-0/+27
The X-Powers AXP323 is a very close sibling of the AXP313A. The only difference seems to be the ability to dual-phase the first two DC/DC converter, which adds another register. Add the required boilerplate to introduce a new PMIC to the AXP MFD driver. Where possible, this just maps into the existing structs defined for the AXP313A, only deviating where needed. At the moment there is an implicit relationship between the AXP model IDs and the order of the strings in the axp20x_model_names[] array. The ROHM BD96801 "scalable PMIC" provides two physical IRQs. The ERRB handling can in many cases be omitted because it is used to inform fatal IRQs, which usually kill the power from the SOC. There may however be use-cases where the SOC has a 'back-up' emergency power source which allows some very short time of operation to try to gracefully shut down sensitive hardware. Furthermore, it is possible the processor controlling the PMIC is not powered by the PMIC. In such cases handling the ERRB IRQs may be beneficial. Add support for ERRB IRQs. The error path in cs42l43_boot_work() will lead to an unbalanced regulator put, when the driver is removed. Fix this by relying on remove to power down the device.
