2024-11-01octeontx2-af: Fix potential integer overflows on integer shiftsColin Ian King1-2/+2
[ Upstream commit 637c4f6fe40befa04f19c38b5d15429cbb9191d9 ] The left shift int 32 bit integer constants 1 is evaluated using 32 bit arithmetic and then assigned to a 64 bit unsigned integer. In the case where the shift is 32 or more this can lead to an overflow. Avoid this by shifting using the BIT_ULL macro instead. 2024-09-10octeontx2-af: Modify SMQ flush sequence to drop packetsNaveen Mamindlapalli2-14/+48
The current implementation of SMQ flush sequence waits for the packets in the TM pipeline to be transmitted out of the link. This sequence doesn't succeed in HW when there is any issue with link such as lack of link credits, link down or any other traffic that is fully occupying the link bandwidth (QoS). This patch modifies the SMQ flush sequence to drop the packets after TL1 level (SQM) instead of polling for the packets to be sent out of RPM/CGX link. 2024-08-22octeontx2-af: Fix CPT AF register offset calculationBharat Bhushan1-12/+11
Some CPT AF registers are per LF and others are global. Translation of PF/VF local LF slot number to actual LF slot number is required only for accessing perf LF registers. CPT AF global registers access do not require any LF slot number. Also, there is no reason CPT PF/VF to know actual lf's register offset. Without this fix microcode loading will fail, VFs cannot be created and hardware is not usable. 2024-07-15net: Add struct kernel_ethtool_ts_infoKory Maincent1-1/+1
In prevision to add new UAPI for hwtstamp we will be limited to the struct ethtool_ts_info that is currently passed in fixed binary format through the ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO ethtool ioctl. It would be good if new kernel code already started operating on an extensible kernel variant of that structure, similar in concept to struct kernel_hwtstamp_config vs struct hwtstamp_config. Since struct ethtool_ts_info is in include/uapi/linux/ethtool.h, here we introduce the kernel-only structure in include/linux/ethtool.h. The manual copy is then made in the function called by ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO. 2024-06-05octeontx2-af: Add debugfs support to dump NIX TM topologyAnshumali Gaur3-0/+373
This patch adds support to dump NIX transmit queue topology. There are multiple levels of scheduling/shaping supported by NIX and a packet traverses through multiple levels before sending the packet out. At each level, there are set of scheduling/shaping rules applied to a packet flow. Each packet traverses through multiple levels SQ->SMQ->TL4->TL3->TL2->TL1 and these levels are mapped in a parent-child relationship. This patch dumps the debug information related to all TM Levels in the following way. Example: $ echo <nixlf> > /sys/kernel/debug/octeontx2/nix/tm_tree $ cat /sys/kernel/debug/octeontx2/nix/tm_tree A more desriptive set of registers at each level can be dumped in the following way. 2024-05-22tracing/treewide: Remove second parameter of __assign_str()Steven Rostedt (Google)1-6/+6
With the rework of how the __string() handles dynamic strings where it saves off the source string in field in the helper structure[1], the assignment of that value to the trace event field is stored in the helper value and does not need to be passed in again. This means that with: __string(field, mystring) Which use to be assigned with __assign_str(field, mystring), no longer needs the second parameter and it is unused. With this, __assign_str() will now only get a single parameter. There's over 700 users of __assign_str() and because coccinelle does not handle the TRACE_EVENT() macro I ended up using the following sed script: git grep -l __assign_str | while read a ; do sed -e 's/\(__assign_str([^,]*[^ ,]\) *,[^;]*/\1)/' $a > /tmp/test-file; mv /tmp/test-file $a; done I then searched for __assign_str() that did not end with ';' as those were multi line assignments that the sed script above would fail to catch. Note, the same updates will need to be done for: __assign_str_len() __assign_rel_str() __assign_rel_str_len() I tested this with both an allmodconfig and an allyesconfig (build only for both). 2024-05-10octeontx2-pf: Reuse Transmit queue/Send queue index of HTB classHariprasad Kelam1-1/+79
Real number of Transmit queues are incremented when user enables HTB class and vice versa. Depending on SKB priority driver returns transmit queue (Txq). Transmit queues and Send queues are one-to-one mapped. In few scenarios, Driver is returning transmit queue value which is greater than real number of transmit queue and Stack detects this as error and overwrites transmit queue value. For example user has added two classes and real number of queues are incremented accordingly - tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100Mbit ceil 100Mbit prio 1 quantum 1024 - tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:2 htb rate 100Mbit ceil 200Mbit prio 7 quantum 1024 now if user deletes the class with id 1:1, driver decrements the real number of queues - tc class del dev eth1 classid 1:1 But for the class with id 1:2, driver is returning transmit queue value which is higher than real number of transmit queue leading to below error eth1 selects TX queue x, but real number of TX queues is x This patch solves the problem by assigning deleted class transmit queue/send queue to active class. We try to access count + 1 byte from userspace with memdup_user(buffer, count + 1). However, the userspace only provides buffer of count bytes and only these count bytes are verified to be okay to access. To ensure the copied buffer is NUL terminated, we use memdup_user_nul instead.
