2024-11-12smb: client: remove big chunk of SMB1-only codeEnzo Matsumiya1-3/+2
Remove no longer needed files, structs, macros, functions that were only used by SMB1. TODO: there are probably leftovers, so remove them as they're found. Signed-off-by: Enzo Matsumiya <ematsumiya@suse.de>
2024-11-12smb: remove support for CONFIG_CIFS_ALLOW_INSECURE_LEGACYHenrique Carvalho1-117/+0
This commit removes all code guarded by the macro CONFIG_CIFS_ALLOW_INSECURE_LEGACY as a first step of the cifs module cleanup. Signed-off-by: Henrique Carvalho <henrique.carvalho@suse.com>
2024-04-02cifs: Fix caching to try to do open O_WRONLY as rdwr on serverDavid Howells1-0/+15
When we're engaged in local caching of a cifs filesystem, we cannot perform caching of a partially written cache granule unless we can read the rest of the granule. This can result in unexpected access errors being reported to the user. Fix this by the following: if a file is opened O_WRONLY locally, but the mount was given the "-o fsc" flag, try first opening the remote file with GENERIC_READ|GENERIC_WRITE and if that returns -EACCES, try dropping the GENERIC_READ and doing the open again. If that last succeeds, invalidate the cache for that file as for O_DIRECT. 2024-01-07smb: client: allow creating special files via reparse pointsPaulo Alcantara1-3/+4
Add support for creating special files (e.g. char/block devices, sockets, fifos) via NFS reparse points on SMB2+, which are fully supported by most SMB servers and documented in MS-FSCC. smb2_get_reparse_inode() creates the file with a corresponding reparse point buffer set in @iov through a single roundtrip to the server. 2023-08-20smb: client: get rid of dfs naming in automount codePaulo Alcantara1-2/+2
Automount code will handle both DFS links and reparse mount points. Also, get rid of BUG_ON() in cifs_release_automount_timer() while we're at it. Signed-off-by: Paulo Alcantara (SUSE) <pc@manguebit.com> Signed-off-by: Steve French <stfrench@microsoft.com>
2023-05-24smb: move client and server files to common directory fs/smbSteve French1-0/+876
