For smb, if the smb.conf contains explicit bindings to the network interfaces, the service must wait till network interfaces are up, otherwise the service won't be operational. The 0e571054a61e commit and the BZ 13184 have fixed this for nmb and samba, so do exactly the same here, for smb. We should not double fork in notify mode or systemd think something during startup will be wrong and send SIGTERM to the process. So sometimes the daemon will not start up correctly. systemd will also handle the process group. Add --with-systemd / --without-systemd options to check whether libsystemd-daemon library is available and use it to report service startup status to systemd for smbd/winbindd/nmbd and AD DC. The problem it solves is correct reporting of the Samba services at the point when they are ready to serve clients, important for high availability software integration.
