2024-06-19drm: bridge: simple-bridge: use devm_drm_bridge_add in probeMarc Gonzalez1-12/+1
simple_bridge_probe() calls drm_bridge_add() Thus, drm_bridge_remove() must be called in the remove() callback. If we call devm_drm_bridge_add() instead, then drm_bridge_remove() will be called automatically at device release, and the remove() callback is no longer required. 2024-05-13drm/bridge: simple-bridge: Remove a redundant check on existence of ↵Sui Jingfeng1-5/+0
bridge->encoder Because the existence of 'bridge->encoder' has already been checked before the simple_bridge_attach() function get called, and drm_bridge_attach() will quit with a negative error code returned if it fails for some reasons. Hence, it is guaranteed that the .encoder member of the drm_bridge instance is not NULL when the simple_bridge_attach() get called. Remove the redundant checking codes "if (!bridge->encoder) { ... }". 2023-07-21drm: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-1/+2
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-03-20drm/bridge: simple-bridg: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König1-4/+2
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2022-06-20drm: Drop drm_edid.h from drm_crtc.hVille Syrjälä1-0/+1
drm_crtc.h has no need for drm_edid.h, so don't include it. Avoids useless rebuilds of the entire universe when touching drm_edid.h.
