There is a bug in the sink PDO search code when trying to select
a PPS APDO. The current code actually sets the starting index for
searching to whatever value 'i' is, rather than choosing index 1
to avoid the first PDO (always 5V fixed). As a result, for sources
which support PPS but whose PPS APDO index does not match with the
supporting sink PPS APDO index for the platform, no valid PPS APDO
will be found so this feature will not be permitted.
Sadly in testing, both Source and Sink capabilities matched up and
this was missed. Code is now updated to correctly set the start
index to 1, and testing with additional PPS capable sources show
this to work as expected.

This adds more complete handling of VDMs and registration of
partner alternate modes, and introduces callbacks for
alternate mode operations.

Before a device was created for every discovered SVID, but
this will create a device for every discovered mode of every
SVID. The idea is to make it easier to create mode specific
drivers once a bus for the alternate mode is added.

Commit f2a8aa053c17 ("typec: tcpm: Represent source supply through
power_supply") moved the code to register a power_supply representing
the device supplying power to the type-C connector, from the fusb302
code to the generic tcpm code so that we have a psy reporting the
supply voltage and current for all tcpm devices.
This broke the reporting of current and voltage through the psy interface
when supplied by a a non pd supply (5V, current as reported by
get_current_limit). The cause of this breakage is port->supply_voltage
and port->current_limit not being set in that case.
This commit fixes this by setting port->supply_voltage and
port->current_limit from tcpm_set_current_limit().
This commit also removes setting supply_voltage and current_limit
from tcpm_reset_port() as that calls tcpm_set_current_limit(0, 0)
which now already sets these to 0.

The port->logbuffer_head may be wrong if the two processes enters
_tcpm_log at the mostly same time. The 2nd process enters _tcpm_log
before the 1st process update the index, then the 2nd process will
not allocate logbuffer, when the 2nd process tries to use log buffer,
the index has already updated by the 1st process, so it will get
NULL pointer for updated logbuffer, the error message like below:

When calling debugfs functions, there is no need to ever check the
return value. The function can work or not, but the code logic should
never do something different based on this.
Clean up the tcpm.c code to not care about this, turns out no one was
even checking the return value of this function, so it didn't matter.
Note, I do not think this code can be removed in a running system, as
the debugfs root directory will stick around, that should be fixed
someday...

For supply registration, provide fwnode pointer of the port device,
via the power_supply_config structure, to allow other psy drivers
to add us as a supplier. At present this only applies to DT
based platforms using the 'power-supplies' DT property, but in the
future should also work for ACPI platforms when the relevant support
is added to the power_supply core.

gcc thinks it is too smart and gives off a "you might be using this
variable before it is initialized" warning in tcpm_pd_build_request(),
because it can not follow the logic through the tcpm_pd_select_pdo()
call.
So just make gcc quiet by initializing things to 0, to prevent the
myriad of people complaining that we now have a build warning.

This commit adds sink side support for Get_Status, Status,
Get_PPS_Status and PPS_Status handling. As there's the
potential for a partner to respond with Not_Supported,
handling of this message is also added. Sending of
Not_Supported is added to handle messagescreceived but not
yet handled.

This commit adds a power_supply class instance to represent a
PD source's voltage and current properties. This provides an
interface for reading these properties from user-space or other
drivers.
For PPS enabled Sources, this also provides write access to set
the current and voltage and allows for swapping between standard
PDO and PPS APDO.
As this represents a superset of the information provided in the
fusb302 driver, the power_supply instance in that code is removed
as part of this change, so reverting the commit titled
'typec: tcpm: Represent source supply through power_supply class'

This commit adds code to handle requesting of PPS APDOs. Switching
between standard PDOs and APDOs, and re-requesting an APDO to
modify operating voltage/current will be triggered by an
external call into TCPM.

This patch is a combination of commit 57e6f0d7b804
("typec: tcpm: Only request matching pdos") and source
pdo selection optimization based on it, instead of only
compare between the same pdo type of sink and source,
we should check source pdo voltage range is within the
voltage range of one sink pdo.

Setting the mux to MUX_NONE and the switch to USB_SWITCH_DISCONNECT when
the data-role is device is not correct. Plenty of devices support
operating as USB device through a (separate) USB device controller.
We really need 2 different versions of USB_SWITCH_CONNECT,
USB_SWITCH_CONNECT_HOST and USB_SWITCH_DEVICE. Rather then modifying the
tcpc_usb_switch enum for this, simply remove it and switch to the
usb_role enum which provides exactly this, this will save use needing to
convert betweent the 2 enums when calling an usb-role-switch driver later.
Besides switching to the usb_role type, this commit also actually sets the
mux to TYPEC_MUX_USB and the switch to USB_ROLE_DEVICE instead of setting
both to none when the data-role is device.
This commit also makes tcpm_reset_port() call tcpm_mux_set(port,
TYPEC_MUX_NONE, USB_ROLE_NONE) so that the mux and switch
do _not_ stay in their last mode after a detach.

USB Type-C specification v1.2 separated the power and data
roles more clearly. Dual-Role-Data term was introduced, and
the meaning of DRP was changed from "Dual-Role-Port" to
"Dual-Role-Power".
In order to allow the port drivers to describe the
capabilities of the ports more clearly according to the
newest specifications, introducing separate definitions for
the data roles.

In order to allow the USB Type-C Class driver take care of
things like muxes and other possible dependencies for the
port drivers, returning ERR_PTR instead of NULL from the
registration functions in case of failure.
The reason for taking over control of the muxes for example
is because handling them in the port drivers would be just
boilerplate.

Commit 57e6f0d7b804 ("typec: tcpm: Only request matching pdos") is causing
a regression, before this commit e.g. the GPD win and GPD pocket devices
were charging at 9V 3A with a PD charger, now they are instead slowly
discharging at 5V 0.4A, as this commit causes the ports max_snk_mv/ma/mw
settings to be completely ignored.
Arguably the way to fix this would be to add a PDO_VAR() describing the
voltage range to the snk_caps of boards which can handle any voltage in
their range, but the "typec: tcpm: Only request matching pdos" commit
looks at the type of PDO advertised by the source/charger and if that
is fixed (as it typically is) only compairs against PDO_FIXED entries
in the snk_caps so supporting a range of voltage would require adding a
PDO_FIXED entry for *every possible* voltage to snk_caps.
AFAICT there is no reason why a fixed source_cap cannot be matched against
a variable snk_cap, so at a minimum the commit should be rewritten to
support that.
For now lets revert the "typec: tcpm: Only request matching pdos" commit,
fixing the regression.

At present, TCPM code assumes that local device supports
variable/batt pdos and always selects the pdo with highest
possible power within the board limit. This assumption
might not hold good for all devices. To overcome this,
this patch makes TCPM only accept a source_pdo when there is
a matching sink pdo.
For Fixed pdos: The voltage should match between the
incoming source_cap and the registered snk_pdo
For Variable/Batt pdos: The incoming source_cap voltage
range should fall within the registered snk_pdo's voltage
range.
Also, when the cap_mismatch bit is set, the max_power/current
should be set to the max_current/power of the sink_pdo.
This is according to:
"If the Capability Mismatch bit is set to one
The Maximum Operating Current/Power field may contain a value
larger than the maximum current/power offered in the Source
Capabilities message’s PDO as referenced by the Object position field.
This enables the Sink to indicate that it requires more current/power
than is being offered. If the Sink requires a different voltage this
will be indicated by its Sink Capabilities message.

The source and sink caps should follow the following rules.
This patch validates whether the src_caps/snk_caps adheres
to it.
6.4.1 Capabilities Message
A Capabilities message (Source Capabilities message or Sink
Capabilities message) shall have at least one Power
Data Object for vSafe5V. The Capabilities message shall also
contain the sending Port’s information followed by up to
6 additional Power Data Objects. Power Data Objects in a
Capabilities message shall be sent in the following order:
1. The vSafe5V Fixed Supply Object shall always be the first object.
2. The remaining Fixed Supply Objects, if present, shall be sent
in voltage order; lowest to highest.
3. The Battery Supply Objects, if present shall be sent in Minimum
Voltage order; lowest to highest.
4. The Variable Supply (non-battery) Objects, if present, shall be
sent in Minimum Voltage order; lowest to highest.
Errors in source/sink_caps of the local port will prevent
the port registration. Whereas, errors in source caps of partner
device would only log them.

Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license
in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording
can be removed as it is no longer needed at all.
This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in
the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff
like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never
needed.
No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed.

Due to these typec files being moved into the drivers/usb/ directory in
this tree, they missed the larger "add SPDX tags to all files" work. So
add the correct SPDX license tag, based on the license text in the file
itself.
The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used
instead of the full boiler plate text.

must be unregistered as well. This will also make sure VBUS
