2022-12-14tools lib traceevent: Remove libtraceeventIan Rogers1-2281/+0
libtraceevent is now out-of-date and it is better to depend on the system version. Remove this code that is no longer depended upon by any builds. Committer notes: Removed the removed tools/lib/traceevent/ from tools/perf/MANIFEST, so that 'make perf-tar-src-pkg' works. 2021-12-06libtraceevent: Add __rel_loc relative location attribute supportMasami Hiramatsu1-1/+4
Add '__rel_loc' new dynamic data location attribute which encodes the data location from the next to the field itself. This is similar to the '__data_loc' but the location offset is not from the event entry but from the next of the field. This patch adds '__rel_loc' decoding support in the libtraceevent. 2019-04-01tools lib traceevent: Remove call to exit() from tep_filter_add_filter_str()Tzvetomir Stoyanov1-3/+0
This patch removes call to exit() from tep_filter_add_filter_str(). A library function should not force the application to exit. In the current implementation tep_filter_add_filter_str() calls exit() when a special "test_filters" mode is set, used only for debugging purposes. When this mode is set and a filter is added - its string is printed to the console and exit() is called. This patch changes the logic - when in "test_filters" mode, the filter string is still printed, but the exit() is not called. It is up to the application to track when "test_filters" mode is set and to call exit, if needed. local header file As traceevent is going to be transferred into a proper library, its local data should be protected from the library users. This patch encapsulates struct tep_handler into a local header, not visible outside of the library. It implements also a bunch of new APIs, which library users can use to access tep_handler members. Later it can be decided to use only POSIX functions, then we can easly replace all the `asprintf(3)` with a local implementation of that function. 2016-05-12tools lib traceevent: Do not reassign parg after collapse_tree()Steven Rostedt1-2/+2
At the end of process_filter(), collapse_tree() was changed to update the parg parameter, but the reassignment after the call wasn't removed. What happens is that the "current_op" gets modified and freed and parg is assigned to the new allocated argument. But after the call to collapse_tree(), parg is assigned again to the just freed "current_op", and this causes the tool to crash. The current_op variable must also be assigned to NULL in case of error, otherwise it will cause it to be free()ed twice.
