2024-06-20perf vendor events: Update broadwellde metrics add event counter informationIan Rogers1-0/+57
Add counter information necessary for optimizing event grouping the perf tool. The most recent RFC patch set using this information: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20240412210756.309828-1-weilin.wang@intel.com/ The information was added in: https://github.com/intel/perfmon/commit/475892a9690cb048949e593fe39cee65cd4765e1 and later patches. The TMA 4.8 information was updated in: https://github.com/intel/perfmon/commit/59194d4d90ca50a3fcb2de0d82b9f6fc0c9a5736 Co-authored-by: Weilin Wang <weilin.wang@intel.com> Co-authored-by: Caleb Biggers <caleb.biggers@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ian Rogers <irogers@google.com> Reviewed-by: Kan Liang <kan.liang@linux.intel.com> Cc: Alexandre Torgue <alexandre.torgue@foss.st.com> Cc: Maxime Coquelin <mcoquelin.stm32@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Namhyung Kim <namhyung@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240620181752.3945845-6-irogers@google.com
2024-02-29perf vendor events intel: Add umasks/occ_sel to PCU events.Ian Rogers1-0/+3
UMasks were being dropped leading to all PCU UNC_P_POWER_STATE_OCCUPANCY events having the same encoding. Don't drop the umask trying to be consistent with other sources of events like libpfm4 [1]. Older models need to use occ_sel rather than umask, correct these values too. This applies the change from [2]. 2022-12-21perf vendor events intel: Refresh broadwellde metrics and eventsIan Rogers1-57/+0
Update the broadwellde metrics and events using the new tooling from: https://github.com/intel/perfmon The metrics vary as tma_false_sharing, MEM_Parallel_Requests and MEM_Request_Latency are explicitly dropped from having missing events: https://github.com/captain5050/perfmon/blob/main/scripts/create_perf_json.py#L934 The formulas also differ due to parentheses, use of exponents and removal of redundant operations like "* 1". The events are unchanged but unused json values are removed and implicit umasks of 0 are dropped. This increases consistency across the json files. mapfile.csv's version number is set to match that in the perfmon repository. 2022-07-28perf vendor events: Update Intel broadwelldeIan Rogers1-36/+456
Update to v7, the metrics are based on TMA 4.4 full. Use script at: https://github.com/intel/event-converter-for-linux-perf/blob/master/download_and_gen.py to download and generate the latest events and metrics. Manually copy the broadwellde files into perf and update mapfile.csv. Tested on a non-broadwellde with 'perf test': 10: PMU events : 10.1: PMU event table sanity : Ok 10.2: PMU event map aliases : Ok 10.3: Parsing of PMU event table metrics : Ok 10.4: Parsing of PMU event table metrics with fake PMUs : Ok Signed-off-by: Ian Rogers <irogers@google.com> Cc: Alexander Shishkin <alexander.shishkin@linux.intel.com> Cc: Alexandre Torgue <alexandre.torgue@foss.st.com> Cc: Andi Kleen <ak@linux.intel.com> Cc: Caleb Biggers <caleb.biggers@intel.com> Cc: James Clark <james.clark@arm.com> Cc: Jiri Olsa <jolsa@kernel.org> Cc: John Garry <john.garry@huawei.com> Cc: Kan Liang <kan.liang@linux.intel.com> Cc: Kshipra Bopardikar <kshipra.bopardikar@intel.com> Cc: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> Cc: Maxime Coquelin <mcoquelin.stm32@gmail.com> Cc: Namhyung Kim <namhyung@kernel.org> Cc: Perry Taylor <perry.taylor@intel.com> Cc: Peter Zijlstra <peterz@infradead.org> Cc: Sedat Dilek <sedat.dilek@gmail.com> Cc: Stephane Eranian <eranian@google.com> Cc: Xing Zhengjun <zhengjun.xing@linux.intel.com> Link: http://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20220727220832.2865794-4-irogers@google.com Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com>
